Too Short - Komaeda Nagito x Reader

Prompt: Person A is too short to reach the railings on the subway/bus, and all of the other poles are taken so they have to hold onto Person B instead.

You yawned as you leaned against Komaeda while the both of you were waiting for the bus. “Why are we leaving so early?” you whined, confused why you weren’t back home sleeping the day away. Summer was meant to be the time when you stayed locked up in your apartment and did nothing but sleep and eat. Komaeda knew this from being your roommate for at least over a year, so you didn’t understand why he had woke up and dragged you away from your comfy bed.

“We’re running a bit low on food and I thought it’d be nice if we went grocery shopping together” Komaeda responded, giving that precious smile of his. Your cheeks heated up before you adverted your eyes away from the cute display.

“Better be glad I like you or else I would have just ditched your ass” you grumbled, earning a small laugh from the white-haired male as you pouted a little. Your ears perked up to the sound of the bus drawing near before it came to a complete stop. “It looks a bit crowded” you noted after you both had let a few people exit off the bus before climbing aboard. You both walked down the aisle trying to look for an open seat, pole, or railing to hold onto.

“Ah! There’s an open space!” Komaeda exclaimed as he walked further down the aisle and grabbed hold of the top railing. There was enough space behind him for you squeeze in and reach up, but…your fingertips barely brushed against the railing. You face became deadpanned as you looked upwards, before stretching your arm up a bit more in hopes of wrapping your hand around the railing. A sigh escaped you lips when you found that it was useless, you were too short to reach the railing. Looking around, you found there weren’t any seats open nor were there any room for you to grab hold of a pole either.

Your body jolted forward and rammed into Komaeda’s back the minute the bus started to move again. The taller male flinched at the sudden contact, before looking back at you with a curious expression on his face. Your face heated up before you grumbled and wrapped your arms around his torso. “What was that for, [Your Name]?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at your sudden display of affection.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m just too short to reach the railing and there aren’t any poles left to grab onto” you grumbled just loud enough for him to hear you over the chattered that had started up on the bus. It was quiet for a moment before you suddenly felt Komaeda’s body starting to shake which at first confused you before your face flushed a deep red as realization hit you. “It’s not funny!” you snapped in embarrassment as you unwrapped one of your arms from his torso and started to repeatedly hit his back.

“I’m sorry” he said, chuckling as he shook his head. “Hold on” he said, unwrapping your other arm from his torso and turned his body around so he was now facing you. “If you need to hold onto me, then let’s make it a bit safer and more comfortable” he said.

“What?” you questioned before yelping as you were yank forward. Your face pressed against Komaeda’s chest while his arm was wrapped around your waist and helping in keeping your body pressed against his own.

“There, now isn’t that more comfortable?” he asked, looking down at you with that sweet smile of his.

“Yeah, sure” you mumbled, wrapping your arms tightly around him and burying your face deeper into his chest. A small smile crossing your lips as you relaxed your shoulders and started to enjoy the rest of the bus ride. Hopefully it’ll be just as crowded as it is now when you both are leaving the grocery store.
