You were special in a way, you had the ability to see the deceased. Despite this fact, no one believed you, not even your own crew. They saw it as a joke, they felt the words that left your mouth were amusing and some complimented that you make a great entertainer. Your captain, Trafalgar Law, on the other hand found it to be quite concerning. Especially with how you were acting lately. Law leaned back in his chair as he stared up at the metal roof of his office. He furrowed his brows as he remembered the day he asked you to join his crew.

-Flash Back-

The sunlight fluttered peacefully down on the small island. There wasn't much commotion going on as the villagers moved about their daily lives, some casting glances at the newcomers. Law and a few of his crew members walked through the opened market district of the island, looking at each stand they passed by. The raven haired man stopped and raised an eyebrow as he watched a [Hair Color] haired girl stumble in front of him. Her eyes were wide and frantic as she looked back before straightening herself out and quickly scrambled away.

It was quite strange, he wouldn't lie about that as he stared after her in slight amusement. He took note how the mild chattered of the villagers had ceased and was replaced with low whispers as they all hid their mouths with their hands and whispered to one another. A low 'tsk' could be heard coming from a near by stand as an older gentlemen shook his head. "Seems she's at it again that girl and her wild imagination" he lowly mumbled.

"Hm? Exactly what do you mean by that?" Law questioned, now interested as he walked over to the man's stand. His crew followed behind, curious as well.

"This must be your first time on this island, if you're asking me something as simple as that" the man said as he leaned against the counter of his stand and stared at the younger male. "That little lady that ran by isn't exactly right in the head, or that's just my opinion, others think she just has an overactive imagination" he said, as he shrugged his shoulders. "She runs around talking about how she sees those who are deceased, such a silly claim" he said, mumbling the last part as he shook his head.

"Is that all?" Law questioned, his crew making sound of interest and amusement at hearing such a claim.

"Well that's the gist of it, want to know more, why don't you go talk to her. I hear she likes to hide out in an old shack in the woods, the only place the doctors can't touch her" the man said.

"Why's that?" Penguin asked, curious.

"The forest is one place no one in the village wants to go near, its where most of the dangerous animals on the island lurk and if you don't know your way around you're bound to get lost. So, if you really want to speak to her, I'd be careful" the man said, lazily waving his hand as he showed he had no more interest in the conversation. Law nodded his head as he started to walk once again.

"You think we should check it out, captain?" Bepo asked as he looked down at Law. The man hummed as his lips twitched up into a smirk while his eyes shined with amusement.

"Sure, I'd like to see how much of this spiritual bullshit's real" he hummed as his crew nodded their heads and followed close to their captain.

-Time Skip-

"You sure this was a good idea, captain? I feel like we're lost" Shachi mumbled as he flinched and looked around the woodland area. The trees towered high above as their branches and leaves blocked out most of the suns rays, only allowing a bit of it to seep through and light the faded path a bit. Law hummed, not really answering as he stared ahead. He came to a stop when something drop in front of him, it was that [Haired Color] haired girl. She hung off of a tree branch as she let her arms dangle, along with her hair while her shirt rose up a bit to show her stomach.

"What are you doing here? Don't you know that these woods are quite dangerous, especially for outsiders such as yourselves" the girl said, her [Eye Color] eyes boring into Law's gray ones. She looked tired as bags were under her eyes, but still she held a lazy smile on her face. One that countered that look of fear she had earlier when she had stumbled in front of him.

"In that case what are you doing here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he watched her hum and place a finger on her chin. She swung her body for a bit before throwing herself back up onto the branch so that she now sat on it. As soon as she was sitting up right, she hopped down onto the ground and turned to face the taller male.

"Touche, but where else is one supposed to hide when all the villagers wish to throw one such as myself into the psychiatric ward" she said as leaned back and rest the back of her hand on her forehead in a way that seemed over dramatic.

"Yes, I heard that you could see the decease. Exactly how true is that?" Law asked, never breaking eye contact with the [Hair Color] haired girl as she placed her hands behind her back and rocked back and forth on her feet while humming.

"About as true as that dude with the clown like make-up behind you" she hummed out. The crew lightly snickered at the outrageous claim as they knew that the only people behind their captain was them. They were amused with the girl already. While they lowly snickered, Law cast a quick glance behind him, only to find his crew snickering behind him and not the familiar sounding man that she had claimed was behind him. Maybe this was her idea of a joke, calling the first craziest appearance a person could have out and calling them a ghost. There was no way she could ever know anything about...Law shook his head as he looked at the girl once again.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"[Your Name]" she chirped out.

"Law" was all Law responded back with before turning his head to the side as Penguin leaned forward.

"Captain, can she please join the crew? I think she might be quite useful for boring days when there's nothing to do" he whispered into his captain's ear. Law raised an eyebrow, casting a quick glance at the rest of his crew mates to find them nodding their heads in agreement. Taking in a deep breath, he mulled the thought over before giving a slight shrug of his shoulders and looked at [Your Name] once again.

"So [Your Name], how would you like to be apart of the Heart Pirates?" he asked, his lips twitching up into a smirk as he watched the girl's eyes grow a little brighter.

"Sure, better then being stuck here and possible locked up in a psychiatric ward for life" she said, as she held her hand out. Law chuckled as he took hold of her hand and gave it a firm shake.

-End of Flash Back-

For awhile everything was fine after you had join. You provided the crew great amusement with your stories about the many 'ghosts' you had seen in your life. But, almost about a week ago you went through a sudden change. One that made the captain concerned as it seemed he was the only one that noticed. He couldn't lie when he said that he found your laughter and smile to be quite charming and that you were very beautiful when you sparkled with excitement when talking about those 'spirits' you saw.

The crew didn't seem to notice it as you would give them a force smile and continued to speak, but your stories were mostly rushed or ended abruptly before you'd leave and lock yourself up in your quarters. Law stood up from his chair and exited his office as he walked down the deserted halls of the submarine. Most of the crew was either up on deck or in the main area of the submarine. He stopped in front of one of the doors and raised a knuckle, he stopped when he heard low whispers. He placed his hands on the cool metal surface of the door and pressed his ear against it.

"Leave me alone, I told you to stay away and what do you do, you follow me. I don't want you here, I want you gone, you hear me gone!" he heard you exclaim on the other side, your voice strained and filled to the brim with stress. Law furrowed his brows as he started to wonder who exactly you were talking too. "Ow! Quit it that hurts!" as soon as he heard those words he found himself rapidly knocking on your door.

"[Your Name], are you alright?" he asked. It went silent on the other side as he heard shuffling before you pulled open the door. He looked down at you, raising an eyebrow when he found you wearing one of his old hooded shirts he had given to you for Christmas. A cheap gift, he knew that, but you seemed to love it. As soon as you locked eyes with him, you gave a wide smile that looked forced.

"Of course I'm alright, why would you ask that?" you asked, your 'smile' faltering when you saw the look Law was giving you as he crossed his arms over his chest and tapped his foot on the ground.

"Yeah, sure" he said, not sounding convinced at all as he lightly pushed you out of the way and walked into your room. He let his eyes wandered around the small room, only to find it empty. "Who were you talking too?" he asked as he looked back at you. You arms were wrapped tightly around you as looked at him with slightly dull eyes.

"Corazon says it's not polite to barge into people's rooms without permission, Law" you said causing the raven haired male to grow tense as his eyes widen a bit.

"How do you know that name?" Law snapped, causing you to flinch as you looked down.

"He told me" you whispered.

"Bullshit, he's not here so how could he tell you!" the male growled, narrowing his eyes as he glared at you. Not really in the mood for one of your parlor tricks. You didn't say a word as you continued to stare down at the ground. Law gave another short growl as he walked over to you and roughly grabbed your arms while leaning down to be face to face with you. You bit your lip to hold back a scream from the pain that shot through your body when Law grabbed your arms. "Answer me, how do you know that name?!"

"I already told you, he told me his name!" you finally snapped as you looked up. Tears welled up into your eyes as you stared into Law's gray orbs. "Why can't you believe me, why won't any of you believe me?" you asked, your lips twitching downwards as tears started to stream down your face. Law tightened his grip on your arms ready to snap once again before he felt a cold chill run down his back. "He says it's not nice to handle a lady so roughly" you mumbled.

"Is what you're telling me the truth?" Law asked as his hat cast a shadow over his eyes and hide them. You nodded your head. "Is...is he in the room with us?" he asked, hesitating a bit. He watched as your lips twitch upwards into a small smile as you once again nodded your head. "One last question, was he the one you were talking to earlier before I knocked?" he asked, he watched as your smile fell and you shook your head while tears continued to stream down your face. Law swallowed thickly as he stared at the fear in your eyes and the stressful look on your face.

"Who were you talking to?"

"My father" you whispered, Law watched as your eyes looked right past him. He looked at your face, it reminded him too much of a frightened child that's just seen a monster and for all he knew that's what you were staring at, a monster. One that he and no one else will ever be able to see. He opened his mouth wanting so badly to ask what you had meant, but was stopped by a low whisper in his ear. His closed his mouth and gently lightened his grip on your arms as he pulled you into a hug.

"You said he was hurting you from what I heard earlier, where did he hurt you?" he asked in a breathlessly whisper as he held you close. He pressed your head against his chest so that you had no way of looking behind him.

"My arms" you whispered.

"How long has he been hurting you?"

"For fifteen years" the minute you uttered those words, Law tightened his grip on you as he clenched his jaw before taking in a deep breath and calmed himself down. "He always hated how I was different. He hated the stares the villagers gave us when I spoke about my gift...he hated me and he still does, even after death he can't move on 'til I'm rotting in the ground" you whispered sadly as you nuzzled your face into Law's chest. "He's the one ghost I wish I could never see."

"[Your Name]" Law mumbled as you both stood there in silence with him still hugging you. The room was silent and Law wondered if the two of you were fully alone or if Corazon or the unwanted spirit was still there.

"Hm" you hummed in response as you looked up at Law. He found his face heating up a bit as he thought about how adorable you looked with your wide [Eye Color] eyes and cute facial expression of curiosity for wanting to know what he had to say.

"I want to say that I promise that I won't let anyone hurt, whether they're alive or not" he mumbled as he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss against your lips. Your face heated up for a bit as your eyes closed and you gently kissed him back. When he pulled away he watched as you opened your eyes and with a small smile looked up above his head before giving a low laugh.

"Law" you said, receiving a hum as a response. "Corazon says he's proud of you" you said giving a bright smile that made Law's lips twitched up into a small smile as he laughed a little.

"That's good to know" he mumbled as he pulled you into a gentle hug once again.
Sorry if it isn't that great
